Our Executive Chefs are responsible for overseeing every aspect of the operation and management of our food services kitchen and staff. As an Executive Chef you are responsible for all food production and presentation, directing the food services staff in all areas of food service, maintaining the overall food service budget including food cost, labor, and supplies, while sustaining Holiday Retirement’s high standard of incredible food quality and unparalleled service.

Qualifications

  • Culinary Arts Degree and two years experience in hands-on food preparation and presentation OR five years experience in high-volume cooking and fine dining experience OR equivalent experience
  • Excellent culinary skills including recipe conversion, baking and food presentation
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Desire and ability to work as a part of a team with commitment and respect for all individuals
  • Working with residents and staff to proactively approach food service matters
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with residents, staff and general public
  • Competence in principals of sanitation ServSafe Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment)
  • Online ordering and inventory
  • Functional computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
  • Maintaining confidentiality in all business and operations information
