Holiday Retirement giving seniors a break with lifetime rent freeze

1/7/2011

For a third consecutive year, the more than 58 million Social Security recipients will not receive a cost-of-living increase. The House and Senate also recently vetoed a one-time $250 relief payment for those receiving Social Security benefits.

Meanwhile, everyday costs are on the rise, including electricity, food, gas, and prescription drugs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The average Social Security cost-of-living adjustment this decade was nearly 3.1 percent before 2009 – the first time since the inception of the Social Security program in 1975 that benefits did not include an increase.

For a limited time, a select number of Holiday Retirement communities are hoping to provide some relief. Between Jan. 1 and Jan. 31, any senior who moves into one of 20 communities listed below will receive a rent freeze for life, which is a guarantee that the monthly rent will never increase.

The all-inclusive monthly rent at Holiday Retirement Communities covers private suites, three meals daily, live-in managers, housekeeping and transportation services, daily activities, an exclusive travel program and more. Holiday Retirement specializes in independent senior living, catering to seniors who do not need around-the-clock assistance but seek a simpler lifestyle.

The participating communities include (cities in parenthesis):

Tennessee: Creekside at Shallowford (Chattanooga); The Manor at Steeplechase (Franklin); Uffelman Estates (Clarksville); Windlands East (Madison); Windlands South (Nashville).
Missouri: Boone Landing (Columbia); Briarcrest Estates (Ballwin); The Cambridge (Springfield); Country Squire (St. Joseph); Lakeview Park (Fenton); Orchid Terrace (St. Louis).
Kentucky: Hartland Hills (Lexington); Jackson Oaks (Paducah); Ponder Creek Estates (Louisville).
Indiana: Parkside Court (Columbus); Redbud Hills (Bloomington); Willow Park (Evansville).

“We are hoping this offer can provide seniors with the peace-of-mind they deserve in knowing their monthly expenses will never increase as long as they live with us,” Holiday Retirement Managing Director Mark Prince said. “At Holiday Retirement, seniors can say goodbye to all the costs and burden of owning a home and say hello to the lifestyle they deserve.”
