Seniors Serving Seniors and Seniors Serving Society (SSS) is a volunteer program developed by Holiday Retirement. The purpose of SSS is to coordinate opportunities for residents to enrich the lives of others, and, in return, enhance purpose and passion in their own lives. Studies have shown that senior volunteers enjoy a better quality of life than the average non-volunteering senior.
Holiday Retirement residents continue to support numerous causes for such organizations as Habitat for Humanity, the American Red Cross, local food banks, local schools, local police and firemen, local senior centers, veterans and much more. Holiday Retirement communities have also assisted in Hurricane Katrina and Haiti earthquake relief efforts, among other.
The SSS program was named “Most Innovative” in 2007 by the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA).
