A message from the President & CEO
Earlier this week, one of our very own Holiday associates was honored for her deep commitment to seniors at the ALFA conference, a gathering of senior living executives in Tampa. Joyce Fowlkes, an enrichment coordinator at Hidden Lakes in Salem, Oregon is a recipient of the 2015 ALFA Hero Award for her dedication and passion to serving seniors. I am extremely proud of Joyce’s accomplishment and would like to take a moment to share how appreciative I am of her hard work.
Joyce was nominated by her manager, Anthony Pete, because of the way she treats each resident as an individual. When nominating Joyce, Anthony wrote “We have residents that are 51 years old all the way up to 103 years old each with different needs and wants. Joyce has been able to accommodate that need/want ratio with a very robust and diverse program.”
As enrichment coordinator, Joyce’s main responsibility is creating a full, robust activities calendar for our residents, but she goes far beyond that ask. In the three years that Joyce has been a Holiday employee, she has grown Hidden Lakes’ resident volunteer base immensely. Almost 100 of Hidden Lakes’ residents volunteer in or around Salem thanks to Joyce’s efforts.
I want to publically recognize Joyce and thank her for her dedication to serving residents and her community. Joyce’s award is both a personal accomplishment and an honor for the thousands of Holiday associates who dedicate themselves to enriching our residents’ lives. Holiday associates are heroes every day, and I’m so proud of what you do. Thank you!
