Montgomery Park residents turn the community into a visual Valentines Day card
Every year at Valentine’s Day you cannot help but feel the love in the air. And it was no different at Montgomery Park, where residents displayed their hearts for all to see to support a local hospice in Buffalo, New York, where the community is located.
For the few weeks before Valentine’s Day this year, residents purchased Valentine’s Day hearts to decorate and hang in the independent senior living community’s dining room. All proceeds from the purchased Valentine’s Day hearts and any additional donations made went toward Hospice Buffalo. Ultimately, Montgomery Park residents were able to raise more than $600 for the local hospice organization.
Residents really embraced this activity and immersed themselves in decorating Valentine’s Day hearts. Their hearts highlighted the seniors’ sweeties, their spouses, children, grandchildren, and even pets. Other hearts had beautiful messages written about hospice and the impact it had on a senior’s life.
“This project brought a breath of fresh air and a sense of renewed kindness to our community,” said Mary Baty, sales leader for Montgomery Park. “The Valentine Hearts Project was such a visual activity for our residents, it really brightened up the building as well as our residents’ days!”
