Roy Maffin, U.S. Air Force
Air Force veteran Roy Maffin enlisted in 1950 and spent 22 years in numerous assignments worldwide as an aircraft and warning radar specialist.
Roy often served in very remote, small Air Force installations because that’s where radar facilities were often located.
One of Roy’s overseas assignments was in the Philippines, where he served for four years. While stationed there, he made numerous trips to Vietnam setting up radar installations, including the first of its kind in Da Nang.
Roy retired as a Senior Master Sergeant to Tillamook, Oregon with his wife Martha prior to becoming residents of Astor House of Springbrook Oaks. Roy and Martha have seven children, several of whom are also veterans of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps.
