Milwaukee WI Senior Living
The largest city in the state of Wisconsin, Milwaukee is home to a great many exciting sites and attractions. Situated along the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan, Milwaukee offers beautiful snowy winters and warm summers.
First known for its breweries (there’s even a Major League Baseball team named after them), Milwaukee is also host to a great deal of other notable establishments. Take, for instance, Milwaukee’s diverse array of museums. For art lovers, there’s the Milwaukee Art Museum, Grohmann Museum and Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum. Discovery World is an absolute must-see; though it’s grounded in science, there’s something everyone can find to enjoy. If you’re fond of history, you might be interested in checking out the Pabst Mansion or Milwaukee County Historical Society.
Milwaukee also happens to be the headquarters for popular motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson, where you’ll also find the Harley-Davidson Museum recently opened in 2008. For those that appreciate the performing arts, you’ll have your hands full choosing which venue to attend. There’s the Festival City Symphony, Marcus Center for Performing Arts, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Theatre, Milwaukee Ballet and much more.
Among its many nicknames, Milwaukee has been dubbed the “City of Festivals.” A quick look at the city’s annual events calendar will tell you why. In addition to hosting the Wisconsin State Fair, Milwaukee also hosts the popular music festival Summerfest. You’ll also see festivals celebrating a number of different ethnicities including Polish, German, French, Greek, Italian and many more.
