Richmond VA Senior Living
Richmond, Virginia’s capital city is the home of more than 400 years of American history. Pocahontas, Bill "Bojangles" Robinson and Matt Lauer all lived in Richmond, and it’s the site of Patrick Henry’s famous “Give me liberty or give me death” speech.
Visit St. John’s Church – the site of that speech or Richmond’s own Edgar Allan Poe’s museum. Along with museums, the city is rich with architectural wonders, including the capital building designed by Thomas Jefferson and the only avenue designated a National Historic Landmark – Monument Avenue. The Richmond Liberty trail is a great place to start. Marked throughout the city are trails that highlight the history and wonder of this area.
But history isn’t the only thing that compels people to visit Richmond. With a thriving music and theater community, enjoy every variety of performance you can think of – opera, ballet, folk festivals and more. You can even catch an exciting NASCAR race at the Richmond International Raceway.
If you prefer a quieter route, take a walk around the state capital on the Canal Walk built on the James River at the suggestion of George Washington. Or visit Three Lakes Nature Center and Aquarium or the many beautiful parks and gardens in Richmond.
While you are in the area, come and visit one of our Holiday Retirement communities and see why our residents love it here.
