Residents a key ingredient to happiness for long-tenured team members
It’s not too common to run across someone with decades of experience at the same company. That’s why we’re proud to count so many long-tenured team members among our number. At Holiday Retirement, our team members are essential to the community and experience we create for our residents.
We recently caught up with some of our most senior employees to hear what they love about their work with our residents and in the Holiday family.
Adrene Pullins of Holiday Retirement’s The Regency House in Decatur, Ga., will celebrate her 30th anniversary with the community in November. She loves working with the residents and says they have been a key factor in her experience over the years: “They’re all special as individuals, and if I can make one of them happy, that’s good.”
Holiday Retirement’s Arcadia Place in Vista, Calif., counts both Larry Mateo and Phyllis Rivers among its team. Larry Mateo has spent almost 28 years with the community and says that he enjoys the close relationship with his co-workers, in addition to working with the residents.
Phyllis Rivers celebrated her 28th anniversary earlier this year. She too says that working with the residents has enriched her career: “They’re a lot of fun—we get along well.” Phyllis said that she’s enjoyed some special friendships with residents over the years, but that one of her favorite activities has always been listening to residents tell stories of long ago. And as for Arcadia Place? She says at this point, it’s like a home away from home.
Yvonne Louis and Patricia Siebert are both in their 29th year of employment at Holiday Retirement's Royal Palm Centre. Yvonne said the secret to their career longevity is simple: “We love the residents. That’s why we’re here to take care of them.”
We know our team members make all the difference, and we’re extremely proud to have so many long-tenured employees in the Holiday Retirement family. We’d like to extend our most sincere thanks to everyone featured here, and the many others who’ve helped make our communities special throughout their careers.
