Mother knows best: Holiday Retirement moms share their life advice
It is often said that a mother's love is the heart of the family. However, life as a mom doesn't come with an instruction manual, and there are some things parenting books just don’t cover. Becoming a mother is exciting and unpredictable—thankfully, wise moms have passed down useful bits of advice to fellow parents for generations.
In honor of Mother's Day, four experienced moms from Holiday Retirement’s Oakwood Hills, collectively boasting 11 children, 26 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, have shared their can't-miss advice for moms and moms-to-be.
“Live life to the fullest while you’re young enough to enjoy it. Get to know the people around you as individuals, and don’t judge them before you give them a chance.”
“Love your children unconditionally and deeply because none of us know what tomorrow will bring.”
“Let your adult children come to you for advice and guidance; don’t insinuate yourself into their lives.”
“Treat your children like a mother bird does: don’t squeeze so tight that you cause damage, but hold them tight enough that they don’t fall.”
From fitness to family, there are plenty more topics and articles to explore.
Take me there!
