Motor-Loving Residents Share Their Passion for Engines
Did you know Holiday Retirement residents can bring their cars to their community? They can and do! While many residents elect to rely primarily on our convenient buses — perhaps because of our cheerful bus drivers — others use their own wheels to get around, especially on those particularly lovely days that make you say, “It’s a great day for a drive!”
Plenty of classic cars have rolled through our communities, and so have more than a few gearheads. Walk around any corner and you might find former engineers chatting away or reading up on any number of mechanical topics.
While some love planes, trains and boats, others adore cars, trucks and motorcycles. Some of our car hobbyists have shifted their focus from the real thing to building models — a more cost- and space-effective option that allows them to indulge their passion on a smaller scale.
For resident Tim Murphy of Holiday Retirement’s Cascadian Place in Everett, Washington, engines have been a long-standing love affair, and nothing quite compares to the real deal. Over the years, he built cars, trucks and motorcycles and rebuilt multiple engines. He was also the proud owner of Harley-Davidson and Honda Valkyrie motorcycles.
Whatever your hobby or passion, Holiday Retirement will help you spend more time enjoying it. Our residents devote their time to the things they love, from technology and sports, to music and pets.
