Stockton CA Senior Living
Stockton is located in the heart of the California farmland and offers easy access to those who prefer their produce to be locally sourced. Along with galleries, museums and other entertainment options, Stockton is a great place for seniors who are ready to retire.
Stockton is a city of festivals. From the Asparagus Festival in April to the Stockton Festival of Lights and Boat Parade in December, there’s something to celebrate all year long. Be sure to enjoy the historic waterfront and take advantage of the more than 60 parks located in the city limits.
The arts are celebrated throughout the Stockton area, too. For 19th and 20th century art and pieces of significance to California, The Haggin Museum is a great place to visit. For contemporary art, the University of the Pacific and the San Joaquin Delta College both have galleries with pieces from students and well-known artists. The third oldest symphony in California is the Stockton Symphony. Stockton hosts the Brubeck Jazz Festival every April. The festival is in honor of Dave Brubeck, the jazz piano legend who attended University of the Pacific in Stockton. For live theatre productions, the Stockton Civic Theatre hosts musicals, comedies and dramas each year.
Sports fans will enjoy cheering for the Stockton Ports, a minor league affiliate of the Oakland A’s. Hockey enthusiasts can watch the Stockton Thunder take on one of their ECHL opponents. There are collegiate sports to enjoy as well. Of course, if you’d rather be participating rather than just watching, be sure to enjoy one of the many public and private golf courses in the area.
With seniors making up 10% of the population, there will be tons of new friends to make. If you choose to spend your golden years in Stockton, consider living at a Holiday Retirement community in the area. When you live at a Holiday Retirement community, your friends are also your neighbors!
