Enjoy the best of country-style senior living at Marion Woods retirement community in Ocala, FL, also known as “the horse capital of the world.” Our community is located on a quiet tree-lined lane within a mile of an elementary school, butcher shop and several health centers, as well as the playgrounds and walking trails of Brick City Park.

Many of Central Florida’s top nature sites are within driving distance of the community. The world-famous glass bottom boats and vivid blue waters of Silver Springs State Park are just seven miles away. It’s also less than 45 minutes to the serene 430,000-acre Ocala National Forest.

Connection isn’t our goal. It’s our promise.

That’s why life at Holiday Retirement isn’t prescriptive, it’s personal. This is an era of opportunity to find passions that spark curiosity and people that inspire us to learn who one is. Life at Holiday Retirement isn’t about a building or amenities, it’s about the ways those simple pleasures and the people we share them with transform us every day. A meal becomes a memory. A trip to the store becomes an adventure. And a walk around the grounds becomes a tradition between friends. We are Holiday Retirement and we believe life is best lived among friends on your terms.

Beauty Care Needs Met On-Site

The convenience of Marion Woods' on-site beauty salon and barber means all you have to do is walk in to get your hair and nails done. Of course, appointments are available.

Outside clients are welcome to come in and enjoy the salon services.

Fitness Right at Home

Marion Woods' residents enjoy a variety of health and fitness activities, from weekly group exercise classes to anytime access to on-site fitness equipment.

There's a group that gathers on a regular basis to walk around the property. Exercise while enjoying time with friends is always a win. We have an onsite physical therapist which makes it very easy and convenient for the residents to focus on their health.

Let Us Serve You

Enjoy restaurant-style dining served with courtesy and caring by our staff who know you. Chef-prepared meals are served every day in Marion Woods' dining room. Sit with friends or invite your family for a special occasion in our private dining room. Each meal is designed to meet the unique nutritional needs of community members.

Our chef was born and raised in Ocala, and shares this bond with many of the residents. There's a monthly roundtable with the chef where he gets feedback from residents, it's a collaborative effort to make sure the menu is working for everyone.

While our chef is relatively new, the rest of the kitchen staff has been at the community for 8 or more years. They know our residents, what they like, and how they like it prepared. The GM is a chef who has been with Holiday for 14 years, and is very active in both menu planning and special event cooking.

One chef specialty all the residents rave about is the Mediterranean Seafood Stew. It's superb!

Make Memories Exploring the Surrounding Community

There’s so much to explore in the Ocala area and Marion Woods makes sure that residents experience as much as possible. Regular outings to favorite restaurants, local events, and more introduce residents to all their neighborhood has to offer and connect them to the surrounding community.

You can join the "lunch bunch,” a group that goes out once a month to try different restaurants. It’s a great opportunity to make friends with fellow foodies!

Some of the favorite local outings are, trips to the Casino, Boat Tour at Silver Springs, Tuskawilla Park, St. John’s River Cruise, Eisenhower Museum, Kingdon of the Sun Concerts, Don Garlit’s Museum, and U of F Butterfly Garden. There's always something fun to do should you want to venture out!

Life is Never Boring

Marion Woods' comprehensive calendar is packed with both recurring activities and special events. The variety of available activities is meant to enrich the whole person by stimulating physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, creative, social or vocational wellness.

We have amazing "Dinner and a Movie" themed meals in our clubhouse regularly, prepared by the GM. There's a resident maintained butterfly garden that is beautiful, and everyone can enjoy.

Pets Make Life Better

Furry friends are welcomed as residents at Marion Woods'. We understand how important the companionship and bond that seniors share with their pets. We’re delighted to have cats, dogs, birds, and even bunnies as part of our community.

We have a 12 acre campus with walking trails throughout, which is perfect for walking resident pets. And if you don't have a pet of your own, therapy animals sometimes come for a visit and they're always ready to play and cuddle.

Stay Connected with Technology and Wifi

Marion Woods is equipped with WiFi access to help you stay connected throughout common areas. You can use a community desktop computer to stay up to date or connect your personal devices to the WiFi.

We have Tech Tuesdays where staff members answer questions residents may have about their devices, and provide instruction on how to better use them. The topics vary weekly.

We have set up apartments that are Alexa friendly (AC, TV, Lights etc) for residents with macular degeneration

Travel and Adventure is Always Available

The exclusive Travel & Stay program offers residents exciting opportunities to travel around the country, with free stays of up to seven days at any of Holiday Retirement’s more than 260 communities. Three chef-prepared meals are included with each trip. Visit all 43 states or just choose a favorite new location or two.

Lend a Helping Hand

Many residents find a sense of fulfillment in donating their time and skills to a cause close to their hearts.

We have empowered residents to become resident ambassadors. These individuals have often lived in the community for quite some time and enjoy helping new residents get acclimated to senior living. They encourage new residents to take their time settling in and them feel comfortable in their new home.

Some of the charities our community supports are, Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Marion County Food Bank Canned Goods Drive, Crossroads Academy for Special Needs Children, and Halloween Safe House. There's also a group that knits hats, blankets, etc. for the local hospitals. Residents also organize annual school supply drives for local schools.
