Holiday Retirement makes staying active easy
Active, healthy living is a cornerstone of the Holiday Retirement lifestyle. All of our communities offer activities and classes designed to help residents stay active in a way that suits their personal style. Each community has a unique events calendar, but there are certain activities that residents everywhere adore.
With that in mind, we’ve rounded up some top choices to suit every style. Incidentally, if you’re a resident and you see an activity below that’s not at your community yet, ask your Enrichment Coordinator how to get it on the schedule!
For a taste of relaxation
From beginners to experts, we have numerous options for those who enjoy a sense of zen with their exercise. Glance through the calendar, and you may well find Tai Chi, Seated Tai Chi, Yoga, Chair Yoga or Healthy Breathing Techniques sessions to tempt you.
For the fitness fanatic
If fitness is your favorite way to stay in shape, keep an eye on the calendar for a diverse roster of classes that will keep you fit and strong. From Strength Training to Stay Fit programs, to specialized Exercise for Arthritis and resistance-focused Stretchy Bands, there are any number of classes designed to help you flex those muscles!
For a bit of fun
Those who like a side of fun with their exercise are in luck. From the perennial resident favorite pastime of Bean Bag Baseball to sessions dedicated to Wii Bowling (among other Wii Sports), the community calendars are full of opportunities to get active while enjoying fun with friends.
For the mind
And because wellness isn’t restricted to physical efforts, we also recommend embracing those events that will help you train your brain. Trivia Night is a popular event at many communities — you may even find themed events around special occasions. Many communities dedicate entire days to drop-in sessions featuring Brain Games, including card games, word puzzles and other tabletop games that encourage a bit of cognitive exertion.
